نامه ی ای سرگشاده درباره ی مرمت پاسارگاد
خطاب به يونسکو، سازمان ملل، و مردمان ايران و جهان
پاسارگاد، به عنوان يکی از مهمترين آثار باستانی ثبت شده در ميراث جهانی از يک سو، و به عنوان آرامگاه بنيان گزار ايران و اولين شخصيت سياسی جهان که سخن از برابری حقوق انسان ها گفته است، همواره مورد توجه جهانيان بوده است و، در نتيجه، تعميرات آن نيز اکنون نظر بسياری از متخصصين در داخل و خارج از ايران را بخود جلب کرده است.
مسئولين ميراث فرهنگی و مرمت در ايران، که مدتی است نزديک شدن به اين بنا را ممنوع کرده و مشغول «مرمت» آن بوده اند، معتقدند که اين کار بر اساس موازين علمی و به درستی انجام شده است؛ حال آنکه عده ای از کارشناسان و باستانشناسان در ايران معتقدند که اين مرمت به صورتی غير تخصصی انجام گرفته است و در واقع آرامگاه کورش به جای مرمت دچار تخريب شده است.
متاسفانه، اين کارشناسان و باستانشنان، و نيز خبرنگارانی که گزارش اين کارشناسان را بازتاب داده اند، به دلايل فشار دستگاه های امنيتی حکومت ايران نمی توانند به شکلی علنی با مردم تماس بگيرند و يا صدايشان را با نام و مشخصات خود به موسسات بين المللی از جمله يونسکو برسانند.
کميته بين المللی نجات پاسارگاد، وابسته به بنياد ميراث پاسارگاد، که در چهار سال گذشته به طور مرتب در جريان مسايل مربوط به ميراث فرهنگی ايران بوده و گزارشات مربوط به اين گونه تخريب ها را در سطح بين المللی منعکس ساخته است، به وسيله ی اعضا و دوستداران خود در ايران به طور مرتب از آنچه که بر سر پاسارگاد می آيد با خبر شده، و بر اساس اين اخبار، عکس ها، فيلم ها، و مستندات ديگر، به اين نتيجه رسيده که سازمان ميراث فرهنگی و مسئولين ديگر دولتی بدلايلی ناروشن مايل نيستند مردمان را در جريان روند مرمت اين آرامگاه قرار دهند. در عين حال، گزارش هايی که در سايت ها و روزنامه های دولتی منتشر می شود کاملا با اسناد ما در تضاد اند. در اسناد و عکس های ما خبر از اين است که آرامگاه کورش، نه در هفت سال ـ آنگونه که مسئولان پروژه و مديران سازمان ميراث فرهنگی ادعا می کنند ـ که فقط در چندين ماه در طول سه چهار سال گذشته، و آن هم به صورتی پراکنده و، همانطور که کارشناسان و برخی از خبرنگاران می گويند، کاملاً به صورتی غير تخصصی انجام شده است.
با اين حال، از آنجا که معتقد هستيم قصد و غرض از همه ی اين بحث ها سلامت ميراث فرهنگی و تاريخی ما است و نه موافقت يا مخالفت و نظريات چند طرف مدعی، به اين وسيله پيشنهاد می کنيم که يونسکو تنها به گزارشات سازمان ميراث فرهنگی تکيه نکرده و افراد متخصص خود را برای ديدار از آرامگاه کورش بزرگ به ايران بفرستد. در عين حال ما نيز اجازه می خواهيم که نمايندگان اين بنياد (کارشناسانی در ايران و خارج از ايران) در اين ديدار حضور داشته باشند.

An open letter about the repairs executed in Pasargad
Addressed to UNESCO, UN and the people of the world and Iran
As one of the world’s most important archeological sites registered by UNESCO, and as the mausoleum of the founder of Iran and the first political ruler of the world who has spoken about the rights of humans, Pasargad has always been the focus of the world’s attention and, thus, the recent repairs executed to this ancient monument have attracted the attention of many experts inside and outside Iran.
It is for some time that the authorities of Cultural Heritage Organization and the executors of the repairs have prevented the public to approach this monument while they have been executing their repairs. At the same time, they claim that the scientific procedures for repairs have been rightly observed. Nevertheless, some archeologists and experts in Iran believe that the repairs are completely unprofessional and are destructing the monument rather than repairing it. Unfortunately, due to the pressures of the security organizations, these archeologists and experts, as well as the reporters who have published reports on the process, cannot openly and publicly talk to the international organizations such as UNESCO with their real identities.
The International Committee to Save Pasargad, a branch of Pasargad Heritage Foundation, that has been involved in monitoring of what is happening in Iran with regards to the cultural heritage of the country and has publicized the intentional destruction of archeological sites on the international media, has been following the Pasargad saga through its members and friends in Iran. By gathering many pictures, videos and reports on this matter, we have come to the conclusion that due to undisclosed reasons the relevant authorities do not want the public to become aware of what has happened to the mausoleum during this recent repair. At the same time, the reports published in government sponsored media are in totally disagreement with our records. For example, they claim that the mausoleum has been under repairs during the last seven years, whereas our records show that they have only worked for short periods of time in the last four years in a scattered manner, using unprofessional methods and means, according to experts and reporters.
We believe that the aim and intent of everyone involved should be to preserve this ancient cultural site and the differences in opinions should not derail our focus of attention. Therefore, we hereby suggest that UNESCO does not rely solely on the reports prepared by the authorities in Cultural Heritage Organization of Iran and, instead, send its experts to Iran to examine the site. At the same time, we apply for the permission to send our experts representatives both from inside and outside of Iran, to accompany UNESCO’s observers.
